What you'll get up to
You’ll be volunteering with Badgers (aged 7-10) or Cadets (aged 11-18). You’ll help to support them to care for others, gain new experiences, and learn important life skills, including first aid.
You’ll have the chance to design your own role. This could involve running fun activities, such as outdoor events, summer camps, or providing more ‘behind-the-scenes’ support.
You’ll also have the chance to learn first aid. As well as, the opportunity to become a Youth Leader with the support and guidance from a friendly volunteer manager.
Duke of Edinburgh's Award Leader
There is also the opportunity to become a volunteer Duke of Edinburgh's (D of E) Award Leader. You'll be mentoring and supporting our young people as they work through the award programme. You'll be working with Cadets, students, and adult volunteers from the ages 14 to 25.
We'll provide you with training to develop your skills and experience. You'll also be able to design your own role, whether it's providing more 'behind-the-scenes' support or using your current skills such as a Mountain Leader qualification to run an expedition in Snowdonia.
Flexible time commitment
These are both flexible volunteer roles. Whether it's once a week or once a month, you can volunteer as much or as little as suits you and your lifestyle.
Both volunteer roles are exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitations Offenders Act and as such an Enhanced DBS check will be required.
