The QuikClot® Combat Gauze™ can stop arterial and venous bleeding in seconds. It is easy to apply, requiring no mixing, measuring or heat. It is easy to pack the wound, speeding up the body’s natural clotting without any exothermic reactions, while remaining flexible to conform to any shape or size wound, and easily removable. This gauze should be used in conjunction with direct pressure for 3-5 minutes.
Made from soft white, nonwoven hydrophilic gauze, impregnated with kaolin, an inorganic mineral that is safe and effecting in accelerating the clotting process. It contains an X-ray detectable strip so it can easily be identified.
